BRAIN GYM POSITIVE RESULTS

From Brain Gym South Africa

This story illustrates the effect Brain Gym® had on a whole class as a whole.
Grade 1’s are coming with an inability to cross their mid-line. This eventually affects their reading, spelling and handwriting.
Handwriting: When we do not do our Brain Gym®, I have many children unable to write in the correct lines. With Brain Gym® I am finding a lot less problems in this area. Tall, short and hanging letters find their correct place.
Reading with comprehension: With Brain Gym® even my language problem children have a better understanding. Reading words introduced by doing Grain Gym® exercises are the words known very well.
Muscle tone problems: After Brain Gym® children with this problem can sit down and work effectively for a longer period. Brain Gym® exercises relax those children who are nervous and have no confidence.
Brain Gym® has given me – and the children in my class – the ability to experience learning in a fun and practical way. Movement is truly the door to learning!

What impact did Brain Gym have in my struggle against breast cancer?

Apart from the physical support (breathing and relaxation exercises to build strength etc.) it foremostly helped me to cope mentally and emotionally.
In the 9 months that I received treatment (chemotherapy, surgery and radiation), my Brain Gym Practitioner and I worked through all my issues, fears and feelings of doubt and worry.
As a result it was always possible to keep a positive attitude, to let go and let God and to have faith, joy and discernment in the whole process.
And now that I am healed I will always look back at this period in my life with peace, knowing that with the help of my Brain Gym Practitioner I was able to grow in love, kindness, beauty and creativity and above all to become receptive to God’s total abundance.

Thank you,

Fida

Matthew
Matthew is six years old and he had problems with low muscle tone, lack of concentration and balance while standing on both legs, which lead to gross and fine motor Co-ordination problems. Matthew was very lethargic, never finishing his tasks at school in the given time. He would come home and watch television or play on his Play Station most of the time. He had an erratic eating pattern. He flitted from one activity to the next without completing a game or a drawing.
An Edu-K practitioner compiled his brain and sensory dominance profile. This gave his mother wealth of information about his preferences and the way he deals with life. She attended Brain Gym® workshop. Since his mother started doing Brain Gym® with her son, he changed drastically. Here is a list of just a few areas in which Matthew has improved dramatically since DOING Brain Gym.
Matthew now watches an average of one hour of TV a day; sometimes less. He plays on his Play Station or computer games maybe once a week or even less. He has expressed a desire to play more board games like chess, ludo, snakes and ladders, draughts, etc. He used to play these games, but when he saw that he was going to lose he would walk away and not complete the game. Now he completes the game even though he is losing – which, to me, shows that he has matured remarkably. His eating habits have improved dramatically.
He is able to add up or subtract figures without using his fingers.
He couldn’t finish a task in a given time. Now he finishes 2nd or 3rd in the class.Matthew’s eagerness in participating in his daily exercise has made it so easy for me to maintain a high level of Brain Gym every day. Making it FUN FUN FUN is the key to success.

Thabiseng
Thabiseng was a child with learning difficulties. She was in grade 3, but her math was on a grade 1 level, in spite of the extra lessons she received. During the consultations, we discovered her emotional wounds, which she had blocked-out. This emotional block also caused her math problems. By healing her wounds and removing her block, her math improved within weeks to the grade 3 level.

Testimonials from Brain Gym International

Overcoming Learning Challenges

“We cannot believe the improvement in our daughter after five sessions with you. Before we were referred to you, our daughter Abigail, age 8, could not tie her shoes without help, could not ride her bike without training wheels, and was having difficulty reading at her grade level. Since working with you, Abigail is riding her bike without assistance and training wheels. She is tying her shoes by herself, but most important her reading rate and reading fluency have greatly increased, which has also increased her reading comprehension.

Before working with you, Abigail had received physical therapy and occupational therapy in order to help manage a sensory integration disorder. Even though she had worked through a lot of her sensory issues with the help of physical therapists and occupational therapists, she was still unable to perform with ease some motor tasks and was having difficulty in her academic setting due to poor reading skills.

Likewise, we feel that Brain Gym provided the missing link so that Abigail’s body could integrate all the previous therapy. Because of your work, Abigail has made huge improvements academically and socially in a very short time period. We are very grateful for your work and thankful that God sent you into our lives.

Therefore, we highly recommend your work and endorse Brain Gym has as a valid therapy for any child with learning difficulties due to Sensory Integration, Attention Deficit Disorder, Visual Motor Problems, etc. Again we recommend Brain Gym for any child who is struggling academically.

Brain Gym Music Lessons

“When I initially began using Brain Gym in my flute teaching, I used the activities as a warm-up at the start of each lesson. One day with a student, I realised that there was much more to using Brain Gym during a lesson than that.

Nicole was working on playing with a big, centred, rich sound. She played the passage of music in this new way and it was just lovely! She was so pleased. I asked her to play it one more time, so both of us could have the pleasure of listening to it again. But she could not get it right. Try as she might, the new sound was nowhere to be found!

Then it struck me, the realisation really struck me, that she was out of balance. The effort of doing it the right way had created a new stress. So we found out what Brain Gym movements she needed to do for herself to get back into balance. When she played the passage again, it was just as beautiful as it had been the first time.

This was a powerful experience for both of us – for Nicole because of what she’d achieved; for me because I realised that a student won’t necessarily stay in balance all the way through a lesson just because they’ve done Brain Gym at the start of the lesson.”

Movement Development for Nordic Ski Team

My son Zach and his high school teammates were familiar with a few Brain Gym activities, which their coach had incorporated into their warm-up routine. The skiers’ teamwork increased noticeably. Members of the Nordic ski team added, “The balances helped me calm down before races.” “In the state races, I really pulled myself together and went for it!” “Once we integrate the early movement patterns, we can do the more refined or complex movement skills easily, especially when we are under pressure.”

Gold Medal!

“The mother of a student of mine asked me if BG could help her in her sport of outrigger canoe paddling.  She said she had some difficulty keeping her boat lined up with the end of the course and a big competition coming up.  I suggested she do Space Buttons with far/near eye movements, and do Cross Crawl as her son was doing.

Today she returned after the 2006 Waka Ama Sprint Championships, held here in NZ, with contestants from 27 countries from all over the world. Staying totally focused on the end of the course throughout the race, she won the gold medal from 45 other contestants in five heats in her Master Women’s Singles Event!”

Tool for Seniors…

“Recently, I started to knit a sweater for my granddaughter. The design was an Aran style with cables, diamonds, and bobbles. I soon found myself having dreadful trouble, and had to undo my stitches again and again. So many fruitless attempts! I was ready to give in; no more fancy knitting for me! Then I said to myself, “This is quite ridiculous. I have knitted incredible patterns for years, and I don’t believe that you lose this ability just by getting old.”

As I sat looking at the pattern for the sweater, I thought, “Hang on just a minute, I need to do some Brain Gym.” So I stopped and did 20 minutes of Brain Gym activities.

No more trouble! The sweater is now finished and much admired, and I’ve knitted a couple more for my grandson. What’s age got to do with it?”
– Maureen Nash, Australia

Tool for Juniors…

“It was ski season and our family loves the sport. My husband, two teenagers and I ski well. Our five-year-old Rudy was finding it quite a challenge to learn, but he definitely wanted to ski with the rest of us. After spending a rather frustrating day working with this little fellow on the slopes, my husband asked if I thought some Brain Gym would assist. Rudy was willing to balance for skiing, and we proceeded with Dennison Laterality Repatterning.

The following morning we all were on the slopes early. We started Rudy out on the beginners’ hill.: He mastered this terrain at once. He learned turns and stops at first instruction and soon was experiencing the thrill of skiing with confidence and competence. After lunch he joined the rest of the family to ski all the intermediate runs on the mountain!”

Keener Listening

“Not long after I completed the 3-day Brain Gym course given by Terry Wade I was conducting a criminal investigation which required transcribing of a taped phone conversation. The tape was very poorly done and difficult to hear. After numerous unsuccessful attempts I decided that I would try to use what I had learned in Brain Gym.

“I put myself in PACE and although I was in my office at work I did a balance on my hearing with the goal of accurate transcription of the taped conversation. The first time I listened after doing that I was able to understand the three important statements made in the tape.”
– Claude G. Smith, Texas

Powerful Public Speaking

“I joined a Toastmasters group a year ago at the company where I work. Recently, I was scheduled to speak on the very day that our company planned to hold an open house for all employees. For days prior to the actual presentation, I did several Brain Gym activities as suggested in the Brain Gym for Business Handbook.

On the day of the open house, the president of the company and several vice-presidents were in the audience. I was commended by the president of the company for giving an excellent speech. After the open house, three employees joined our club. In addition to this, I now have been asked to help facilitate workshops in my community.

The applause belongs to Brain Gym. As we say in Hawaii, “No Ka O!” which means, “It’s the best!”

  1. My son began doing brain Gym sessions in February 2015 and continued through until May 2015. At school he was quite shy and cautious. Since working with Aurélie and Brain gym, Gabriel has had a huge attitude shift and is more focused and relaxed at school. He is also confident and applying himself wholeheartedly to tasks that he would normally try and avoid.

    Hi Aurelie,
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your 6 week Brain Gym course. I found it very interesting and informative. It has helped me in my daily life as I feel more confident and my concentration has improved. I also find that I am coping better with stress and seem to have more energy. I continue to do my exercises and would recommend this course to anyone who would like to make improvements in themselves.

  3. I had only one session via Skype, because of the distance, with Aurélie and it was so helpful. In only this one session, she made me discover, deep into me, the actual weigh that were holding me down, I thought that a certain situation was the cause of my mental “depression” and stress but it was actually something else that were deep hidding in my brain. Since this session I feel so much lighter, it’s easier to go forward, I am very positive, I practice mediation etc… Thank You Aurelie, I really wish you could come in Sint Maarten we need you.
