Brain Gym in a School Community, Franschhoek 24th of February 2014

Last week monday the 24th of January 2014, I decided to do something for a disadvantaged community at a school in Franschhoek, inspired by the Mandela Day initiative, I went to teach some Brain Gym exercises to get the students ready to learn and to perform better at school as I believe every day of the year should be a Mandela Day.
See photos attached of the students doing Brain Gym.

Most of the classes have 30 to 40 children per class which can be a great challenge for the students to learn in this context or situation.

I am now looking for sponsors who would generously commit to finance the Brain Gym program in order to train the teachers who will assist students in reaching their full learning potential by teaching them the Brain Gym exercises for enhanced learning, motivation, confidence, stress release and greater well-being.

The Brain Gym exercises help to improve:  concentration/focus, memory, self-esteem, creativity, writing, spelling, reading/reading comprehension/speed reading, spelling, mathematics, communication, organization, coordination, visual skills, auditory skills, kinesthetic skills and more.

In 137 Days it’s Nelson Mandela International Day.

Mandela Day is to inspire individuals to take action to help change the world for the better, and in doing so build a global movement for good.
Ultimately it seeks to empower communities everywhere.
“Take Action; Inspire Change; Make Every Day a Mandela Day.”

Individuals and organisations are free to participate in Mandela Day as they wish. We do however urge everyone to adhere to the ethical framework of “service to one’s fellow human”.”Make everyday a Mandela Day”.

The diagram attached is an illustration of how we change our society, by changing the individuals.

As people get the opportunity to build self-esteem and unlock their potential, they share and help each other more. They uplift the people around them and thus affect their community. When more communities are affected, the more they influence society.

In other words, the more people use Edu-K and Brain Gym the greater the influence on our society will be.

If you know anyone, any company or organization willing to invest in a worthy Educational cause with the Brain Gym Program to make a difference in our society; you can contact me here:

Thanks a lot,

Aurelie Lemiere
